Behind the Scenes: Crafting Signs for the Louisiana Renaissance Festival

When the Louisiana Renaissance Festival asked for custom signage, we didn’t just pull out a paintbrush — we went full medieval with our modern tools.

Our team designed and fabricated the signs using GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) for durability and that authentic old-world feel. But the real magic? We sculpted the designs digitally, created 3D models, and then used those to build custom silicone molds — capturing every carved detail, scroll, and serif. These custom signs were created from vector files given to us by the client and our team created the 3D models.

The result is a set of signs that feel right at home in the 1500s — but were born in a 21st-century workshop. Strong enough to weather the elements, yet detailed enough to hold up to the immersive magic of the faire, these signs are just one example of how storytelling and craft come together in our work.
